On a Visit

When both the journey and the car ride go well, we like to extend the trip with a visit. Whether it’s to a pet store, a workplace, or friends and acquaintances - as long as the cat can come along.

In some places, he can sit safely in our arms, while in others, he needs to be in a carrier. But in places like Vibeke’s home at Lerud Kattepensjonat, where they have a kitten his age, he can roam freely and meet both people and other cats.

Jonatan is both fearless and positive when meeting others, so encountering a like-minded cat is exciting and educational at this age. It will surely go just fine - especially with Baltus, who grew up in a cat colony and has very few personal boundaries.

Jonatan was a bit shocked by the hospitality in the house. Baltus practically broke into his carrier, pushed Jonatan out onto the floor, and immediately started showing him around his home.

First, they rushed off to the living room, where Baltus proudly showed off all his toys and scratching posts. Then they ran into the hallway, where he just as enthusiastically presented the litter box.
Jonatan, however, probably thought to himself that the litter box was ridiculously small—barely big enough for Kasper’s fart!

Suddenly, Mom called, and Jonatan ran back to the kitchen. There, the hostess Vibeke served delicious wet food on a plate on the floor for the little boys, who eagerly ate from the same dish—even though they had only known each other for about 20 minutes.

Full and satisfied, Jonatan wandered over to the kitchen table and made himself comfortable - on top of it.
Baltus stared at him in shock—it was strictly forbidden in this house!
But since there was no sign saying so, the rule probably didn’t apply to guests.

Once their exploration was complete, the two youngsters settled down with the rest of us on the sofa bench - at least for a moment. Before long, some exciting cat toys on the floor caught their attention, and off they went again.
