A Little Update From Our Cat
A Little Update From Our Cat
Jonatan is currently on a short stay at Lerud Cathotel, getting a little refresh on the fact that other cats are actually okay. As soon as we walked in, he recognized the place right away and immediately had to get an overview of where all the other cats were hiding this time.
Luckily for him, there were fewer cats there than during his last visit, so it didn’t take long before he wandered in and settled on the highest spot on the biggest scratching tower. Just like we practiced last time – not only staying low to the ground in the hideouts, but also being comfortable up high.
We’ve been wanting to show him at another cat show, so we’re hoping this stay helps him feel a bit more confident in rooms full of unfamiliar cats.
Jesper and Kasper – Senior Days at Home
Jesper and Kasper are enjoying their peaceful senior days at home while the youngster is in kindergarten. They spend a little time outside and get a few cold degrees on their fur and noses, but now it’s starting to get a bit too cold – especially for the oldest. When his paws get chilly, he runs straight up the stairs and into the bed in front of the fireplace.
We’ve decided that both Jesper and Kasper will go to the vet for a full senior check-up: urine test, blood test, health exam, tooth cleaning, and dental X-rays. Kasper will also get an extra check of his eyesight. We’ll compare prices and schedule an appointment soon.
We don’t have any signs that something is wrong, but it’s time for a dental check, and we prefer to do a full health exam while they’re already sedated. We’ve done dental checks every other year throughout their lives, and now it’s time again.
Even though anesthetizing them has never been a problem before, we’re still a bit nervous — it always feels a little extra when it involves an older cat
Collecting Urine Samples at Home – Wish Us Luck
We’re going to try collecting urine samples at home so we can deliver them to the vet before the appointment. We’ll see whether we can convince them to use their own temporary litter box or if they’ll completely refuse to provide the golden drops in a separate setup.
We’re crossing paws – and maybe a few fingers too.
