Bringing Jonatan Home

We had arranged to meet at the vet for one final health check. If everything went well, Jonatan would come home with us afterward.

Inside the vet’s office, the carrier was opened, and the kittens were free to roam. His two sisters immediately bounced out, full of energy, while Jonatan trotted after them, clearly curious about what they were up to. They eagerly explored every nook and cranny, just as kittens should.

Then it was time for their check-up and weighing. One by one, they were lifted onto the table. When Jonatan’s turn came, the scale stopped at 2.4 kg—healthy and strong as can be. The contract was signed, ownership was registered, and payment was taken care of.

After that, Jonatan was fitted with a harness and placed in our carrier. Odin was absolutely delighted with his new travel companion.

The entire car ride home was peaceful and quiet. Jonatan had already been on several car rides with the breeder, so he handled it all with complete calm. Just a few kilometers in, he lay on his side and dozed off - a clear sign of how valuable good early socialization is.

Once home, we parked in the garage and carried the carrier and kitten inside. Thanks to all the preparations we had made in advance, we were completely confident that this transition would go smoothly as we stepped through the doorway of our home at Rødpusveien.

And there, the welcoming committee was ready and waiting.

Jesper knew exactly what was happening. He had been anticipating this day and was more than ready to welcome Jonatan.

We had barely set the carrier down before Jesper was there, sniffing and investigating the newcomer. Finally, it wasn’t just a familiar scent on a blanket - this was real.

The newest member of the family, JONATAN, was finally home.
