Art exhibition in Budapest, trip 2.
The first trip to Budapest was spent most of the time at the opening of the art exhibition to which Tanya had been invited. Tanya called it "vernissage", a difficult word, but barely back they were told that they were also going to "finissage". That meant another trip to Budapest, and even more to look forward to.
And this time they were going to take more time, they were going to see even more of the beautiful and historic city.
Keys for guests.
These days, where people stay in places other than hotels, keys are placed in a small box with a code on it. This was one of the first things they noticed, often in the streets there are places where many such boxes hang, and quite a colorful sight.
From Buda to Pest.
The city name thus comes from two places, Buda and Pest, and there was a trip to Buda, with an overview to Pest. It is often a popular trip, where one gets a good overview from the heights. It was a nice trip, and not least a nice view of this fine city.
Belgrade has a lot of history, and many buildings to admire.
But also other historical buildings, such as bridges - and the tour went on to
Freedom Bridge.
or, the green bridge, as it is also called.
There are a total of 8 bridges over the Danube, which separate the city, but this is the oldest.
It was completed in 1896 and is now open to pedestrians. It got its name because it was the first bridge to be repaired after the last world war. But it also has beautiful decor and statues.

Central Market
Food culture is important to seek out when visiting new places, and a visit to Central Marked offers a lot for all the senses. Now it is the case that taking a mouse into a food market is perhaps not so wise. But Tanya came up with advice, Marta got a nice place inside the jacket, and just enough opening to follow along. However, she didn't take the chance to take pictures, so to get an impression, please take a look at this video:

PS. The cheese counter looked amazing!

Tanya is a sculptor, so it is important for her to see what other artists have created, also to get some inspiration.
The little princess
is one of the favorites on the list of "must see" sculptures. Created by László Marton in 1972.
This has become a very dear statue in the city, but it also became one of the many sculptures in the city that captures daily life. Sculptures that are more than a memory and honor to famous people.
This sculpture was made in 3 copies, one is located in Tokyo, what Tanya told Marta was on the other side of the globe. Imagine that!!

Kolodko 's art
was the highlight of the day for both Tanya and Marta. He has created a series of completely unique mini-sculptures. They have become so popular that guided tours are now organized to them.
And - for Tanya, it means a lot that he was born in Ukraine. But after he moved to Budapest in 2017, he has managed to make his mark with small figures that have a message, not least against the backdrop of recent events in his home country.
So far he has placed 30 works around the city.
We find much of the collection here:

It was a long day for Marta Mus, saturated with experiences, and with few breaks. Therefore, the day ended at a restaurant.
And Tanya asked nicely if she could take a mouse in with her, and it wasn't allowed.
But - when they heard that it was Marta Mus from Tigerskogen in Norway, she was welcomed!
So there will also be a little quiz this time too, what is the name of the restaurant??
Because, it should be possible to find out - for those who check carefully, and you can reply as a comment on Facebook ;)
Best regards from Belgrade,
from Marta Mus and Tanya - hope you enjoyed this little tour.
