Marta have been in Spain!
We live in Bello Horizonte in La Nucia, which is located on the border near Altea and Alfas del Pi. It's a beautiful place surrounded by mountains on two sides and with the sea in front of us.
Down by the sea is Albir, which is part of the Alfas del Pi municipality. There is plenty of Norwegians living here, and in the winter, there are as many Norwegians in this area as in a Norwegian city (25,000-30,000). The climate here is fantastic all year round, with an average temperature of 19 degrees, better than an average Norwegian summer. We have amazing nature with high mountains and great hiking and biking trails. And just 40 minutes away is the nearest city, Alicante.
The nearby beaches are kilometers long, with crystal-clear water. It's a great place to live for both humans and our cat.
Silja is a Birman and she moved in with us on January 1, 2021, when she was 3 months old. She is absolutely lovely, kind, good, and a bit mischievous.
Tussi adopted us as her family a couple of months after we moved to Spain in September. She is a stray cat and now she lives with us.
She is still a bit skittish and prefers being outside. But she loves cuddles when she comes to get food three times a day, and she stays close to the house and us most of the time.
Silja and Tussi are good friends and they play together outside every day. Tussi also takes some trips inside and finishes all the leftovers after Silja.
La Nucia collects all the stray cats, spays or neuters them, and provides food and water for them to have a good life. Since it's mostly warm here year-round, at least they don't freeze. Their headquarters is just down the street from where we live. They also catch and try to find homes for the cats. They recently caught three black kittens that showed up on our street with their mother.

It was lovely to have Marta visit us.
She was delivered to our door by the postal service called Correo here in Spain. Silja was very curious and sniffed this exciting mouse for a long time. Tussi chose to stand at a distance and just watch.
Marta has been involved in a bit of everything in the past few days, including a surfing lesson with Silja while Tussi watched from the sidelines. She went on a bike ride to Altea as well.
Silja didn't want to come along as she was exhausted from her recent term. Marta tried to lure her out of the kitchen cabinet without success, so she went with mom and dad alone.
Of course, we also had to visit the beach in Albir. We ended the day with a visit to a restaurant.
Now Marta is looking forward to continuing her journey to the next home.
